The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso is an icon, much coveted by both men and women. To celebrate the model’s 60th anniversary, the manufacturer released a limited series of six models from 1991 to 2000. Each incorporating one of the great classical complications, these wristwatches were also offered in larger case sizes and a sapphire crystal caseback, which provided a window onto the mechanical marvel within. As th21st-century advances, the Reverso continues to be a showcase for Jaeger-LeCoultre’s constant quest for technical creativity.
The present Reverso Tourbillon was launched in 1993. Numbered 35 of 500 pieces only, this limited series is in fact only made in 18K pink gold. Housed in a rectangular reversible case, the iconic features of the Reverso are perfectly highlighted. Atop that, the engine-turned dial is adorned with black Arabic numerals while the reversed side is fitted with a sapphire crystal that allows the viewer to admire the tourbillon carriages in motion.
Presented in sublime condition, the present Reverso Tourbillon in pink gold is a true collector’s piece for Jaeger-LeCoultre enthusiasts, complete with its original accessories.
Not all companies in the watchmaking field have been able to stand the test of time quite like Jaeger LeCoultre, also known as the "watchmaker's watchmaker." Founded in 1833 by Antoine LeCoultre and originally named LeCoutre, the firm provided watchmaking's top brands, such as Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin and Audemars Piguet, the high-grade, unfinished mechanical movements with which they completed their watches.
In the early 1900s, Cartier's watch supplier Edmond Jaeger sought out LeCoultre's help in creating the world's thinnest watches. The collaboration resulted in the creation of Cartier's earliest Tank and Santos watches, all housed with LeCoultre movements. The duo decided to merge in 1937, and the firm officially became the Jaeger-LeCoultre brand by which collectors know and adore it today. Some of the firm's most significant and important timepieces include the Reverso, the Memovox, the Atmos clock and, among modern watches, their Master Complications.
