Hyunjin Kwon is a Korean painter whose vibrantly saturated abstract paintings are inspired by the dancing flecks of pattern and colour that appear when you close your eyes and glance into the light. As captured in Visual Poetry, which dazzles the viewer at a height of 2 meters tall, Kwon transforms these internal illusions into mixed-media canvas paintings that blend senses of dimensionality through viscous, jewel-toned texture and form.
Having presented numerous solo exhibitions in cities including Hong Kong, New York and Mako, Kwon was most recently honoured with a solo show of her work at the Pyo Gallery in Seoul in 2021.
