Catalogue Essay
- When it debuted in 2005, the Hublot Big Bang broke convention through bold use of composite materials in luxury sports watchmaking. This limited edition Tourbillon Automatic Carbon 45mm pushes boundaries further with its case crafted from carbon fiber and Hublot’s patented Texalium alloy to form an ultra-strong case.
- Popular in motor racing due to its unrivaled mechanical qualities, carbon is ultra-lightweight, resists torsion, and stands out with its optimal relationship between weight and resistance. Hence, making the timepiece incredibly lightweight and comfortable to wear despite its substantial presence.
- A self-winding tourbillon admired through the skeletonised dial elevates a fixture of fine Swiss watchmaking. Powered by Hublot's cal. HUB6035, its 3-day power reserve autonomy aligns with this limited edition piece's status among the marque's elite offerings.
- Limited to 100 pieces and numbered 042, the present example in barely worn condition with all its accessories represents the pinnacle of Hublot's daring vision. For the pioneering collector, this Big Bang Tourbillon redefines what can be realized through innovative materials and classical complications within a contemporary sports watch design.

Hublot
Swiss | 1980Hublot was founded by Carlo Crocco in 1980 and named after the French word for "porthole," which resembles their iconic bezel design. Hublot's first watch followed three years of research and was the first wristwatch to be fitted with a natural rubber strap. The brand's most recognizable watch today is the 'Big Bang', which was first launched in 2005 upon the arrival of CEO and shareholder Jean-Claude Biver. Other noteworthy models are the 'Classic Fusion' and 'King Power'.
