- Constant Girard unveiled his first 'three bridge movement in 1867 with a subsequent patent in 1887, such was the revolutionary design of the movement that in 1889 it was awarded the gold medal at the Universal Exposition of Paris. Known to make the invisible visible, the movement's design purposely exposed the bridges, functional parts typically hidden from view.
