Chiat/Day advertising company commissioned Frank O. Gehry to design their new offices, which were to become one of Gehry’s most well-known commissions.  During the construction of the building, Chiat/Day’s temporary offices were housed in a 42,000 square foot warehouse.  A central feature of the offices was the 54-foot space which Gehry designed in the shape of a fish, using wooden ribs and sheet metal.  This space was used as the central conference room and this room is where the present lot was housed.
