- Rare minute repeating indication
The present ref. RM S9 from early 1990s is exceptionally important, not only the reference is one of the earliest watches of the brand, but it is also engraved with “No. 00”, the earliest numbered example to appear. Franck Muller takes the minute repeater complication a step further. On top of the “couple de sonnerie” minute repeating tune, the dial features a retrograde indication showing the operation of the complication. It is a visualizing function to prevent untimely mistakes in operation and timekeeping while the complication is still running, in case the wearer is unaware.
Sold from Japan in 2007, this beautiful early 1990s creation waited almost a decade until a collector purchased it from the shop. Small nuances differs the No. 00 from the regular production. Sized at 36mm rather than 35mm, the lugs bears the Varman Sirmakes hallmark "SIR", the co-founder and casemaker of the brand. The dial features a two tone off-white hue and double gold rim around the hours. The feuille hands on No.00 differs from later production which featured spade hands. Even the caseback engravings and movement layout stands out from the production piece. According to our research only 3 has appeared in the market (00, 01, 03).
