- The Franck Muller Vanguard is the manufacturer’s attempt in contemporizing the classic Art Deco style that it has been delivering since its founding. In 2016, Franck Muller released the Vanguard line which involved an oversized curvex-style case with a sporty and clean look. In 2022, teaming up with Bamford Watch Department for the second time, Franck Muller released this “Popeye” Vanguard.
- The watch features the famous American cartoon character Popeye on the dial, with his muscular forearms as the hour and minute hands, and his adoptive son Swee'Pea as the seconds hand. The applique numerals are hand-polished and hand-brushed, giving a soothing look to the watch.
- The case is made of titanium, and underwent the Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating, providing exceptional wear and corrosion resistance. On the caseback, the engraving shows that the watch is numbered 53 out of the limited edition of 60 units produced.
- Accompanied by a cloth printed with an exclusive Popeye comic drawn by R. K. Milholland and Popeye’s iconic spinach can watch case, this watch, kept in “like-new” condition, is an interesting item to be added to American comic and watch lovers’ collection.
