The Octa Lune is one of the early models of the Octa collection, produced between 2003 and 2015. In the year of its debut, Octa Lune was highly acclaimed by the international expert community and won the ‘Favourite Men’s Watch’ award at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG).

This model remains in production to the present, and the entire production span can be divided into four main generations:

First-generation (2003-2004): rhodium-plated brass calibre 1300, 38mm diameter in platinum or 18K pink gold case
Second generation (2004-2007): upgraded to 18K pink gold 1300.2 calibre, 38mm or 40mm diameter (The Present Example)
Third Generation (2007- 2015): upgraded to unidirectional winding calibre 1300.3
Fourth generation (2015): dropped the signature “Phases de Lune” inscribed below the moonphase indicator, feature 40mm or 42mm cases while the production of 38mm models was discontinued

The present platinum example is fitted with a white gold dial is powered by the self-winding bi-directional rotor calibre 1300-2 in pink gold. Circa 2007, it is probably one of the last second-generation examples. Integrated with a straight-line lever escapement and monometallic 4-arm balance with 4 timing weights, the movement is further finish with the brand’s finesse of Côtes de Genève decorations. Accompanied by its original guarantee and slip case, the present Octa Lune in excellent condition epitomizes Journe’s philosophy of technical expertise, design acumen and legibility and is a wonderful opportunity to own an interesting and fine timepiece from one of horology’s greatest artisans.
