Wearing an F.P. Journe creation on the wrist is always a pleasure, but to wear a Centigraphe Souverain Anniversaire is truly an honor. This commemorative series was launched to mark the 10th anniversary of each F.P. Journe flagship boutique, with every piece individually numbered and engraved with the name of its corresponding city. Beyond his role as an industry pioneer, François-Paul Journe is also a dedicated philanthropist and supporter of medical research conducted by the Paris Brain Institute (ICM). For each Centigraphe Souverain Anniversaire sold, 30% of its original purchase price was donated toward research for cures to diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Following the opening of the Hong Kong boutique in Prince's Building in 2006, a limited production of just 20 pieces was created in 2016 to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
A 40mm polished titanium case serves as the frame for an intricate and ingenious dial, complemented by an 18K pink gold crown and ergonomic rocker switch, which allows the wearer to start, stop, and reset the chronograph with a single finger. The subsidiary dials are open-worked to reveal the gears and levers of the chronograph movement, with each aperture covered by a thin layer of translucent sapphire crystal. Red-lacquered titanium hands correspond to the red subdial numerals, while the hour numerals feature a muted orange hue that harmonizes with the pink gold accents. The main dial consists of a single white gold disc coated in ruthenium, providing a dark, high-contrast backdrop for the vibrant elements.
The Centigraphe Anniversaire houses Journe’s innovative, in-house manually wound cal. 1506, capable of measuring elapsed time down to 100th of a second. When engaged, the 100th-of-a-second hand at 10 o’clock completes one full revolution per second, released directly by the escapement. When stopped, this hand can rest anywhere along its scale, enabling a clear fractional reading. The rocker button configuration allows the wearer's fingers to remain stationary during operation, enhancing timing precision. Each subdial is labeled with "S" or "M" and "PR" to denote Seconds or Minutes Per Revolution.
While the standard production Centigraphe Souverain was discontinued in 2018, the Centigraphe Anniversaire series concluded in 2023. Numbered 10 of 20, the present example is preserved in excellent overall condition with very minimal signs of wear and is accompanied by its original certificate and presentation box. Given the ever-growing market demand for ultra rare F.P. Journe timepieces, this highly exclusive and technically innovative watch represents an exceptional collecting opportunity.

F.P. Journe
Swiss | 1999Founded by watchmaker François-Paul Journe in 1999, the F.P. Journe brand is relatively young, but already is as highly regarded by collectors as many distinguished manufacturers with centuries-old heritage. In the minds of the world's savviest collectors, Journe is producing some of the finest wristwatches the market has ever seen. Mastering his craft from restoring historical timepieces, he was the first to create a wristwatch incorporating two escapements that benefit from the phenomenon of resonance — the Chronomètre à Résonance.
Key models include the Résonance, tourbillon wristwatches incorporating a remontoir and the limited edition Vagabondage series. Especially sought-after are his earliest "souscription" watches, made in 1999.
