Good To Know:
- 5th pink on pink example to appear in the market
- Fresh to the market and well-preserved
- Complete with warranty and accessories
- Rare Russian import mark
There is a quiet, magnetic power to a true pink-on-pink watch. When case and dial are both rendered in the same warmth of rose gold, the result is not merely matching metal, but a single, continuous soft glow that is neither as brash as yellow gold, nor as cool as white metals.
Launched at the beginning of François-Paul Journe’s independent career, the Octa Chronographe ranks among the manufacture’s rarest models. Introduced in 2001, it was the first automatic chronograph wristwatch to combine a large date display with a flyback chronograph and an impressive 120-hour power reserve — a world record for a wristwatch at the time.
The model was also the first F.P. Journe reference to be discontinued, succeeded by the Centigraphe Souverain in 2007. Produced in two series, the earlier examples used the calibre 1300 with brass movement, while the later series, represented by the present watch, featured the calibre 1300.2 with an 18K pink gold movement.
In stunning overall condition and complete with its original certificate and presentation box, this example is distinguished by its 38 mm pink gold case, pink gold movement, and mesmerising pink gold dial. According to scholarship, only eighteen such pieces were produced, and in 2015, the brand discontinued its 38mm case size and upsized to 40mm. Fresh to the market, the present watch is just the fifth example to appear publicly at auction. Notably, the watch bears a Russian hallmark under its lug that matches its Moscow retailer stamp on the warranty card.

F.P. Journe
Swiss | 1999Founded by watchmaker François-Paul Journe in 1999, the F.P. Journe brand is relatively young, but already is as highly regarded by collectors as many distinguished manufacturers with centuries-old heritage. In the minds of the world's savviest collectors, Journe is producing some of the finest wristwatches the market has ever seen. Mastering his craft from restoring historical timepieces, he was the first to create a wristwatch incorporating two escapements that benefit from the phenomenon of resonance — the Chronomètre à Résonance.
Key models include the Résonance, tourbillon wristwatches incorporating a remontoir and the limited edition Vagabondage series. Especially sought-after are his earliest "souscription" watches, made in 1999.
