Good to Know:
- Jumping hours, central minutes, and continuously jumping digital seconds
- Numbered 01 of only 10 platinum examples set with 74 baguette diamonds
- Fresh to the market
- Accompanied by its full set of accessories
The F.P. Journe Vagabondage III occupies a unique place within the history of the independent watchmaker. Introduced as the final instalment of the Vagabondage trilogy, it continued François-Paul Journe’s fascination with unusual time displays and innovative mechanical solutions, following the Vagabondage I and II.
The present example is among the rarest versions of the model, being one of only 10 platinum examples set with 74 WS1 baguette-cut diamonds. Further distinguished as number 01 of the series, it represents the very first example produced of this exclusive configuration, adding further importance to an already highly collectible reference.
The Vagabondage III introduced a completely new movement architecture, created specifically for the model. Its calibre 1514 displays the hours and seconds through jumping digital indications, while the minutes are shown centrally. The continuously jumping seconds display was a significant technical achievement, requiring a dedicated constant-force system to ensure the energy required for the mechanism was delivered evenly.
Housed in the distinctive Tortue-shaped platinum case, the present watch combines F.P. Journe’s unconventional approach to design with the exceptional finishing and technical ingenuity for which the manufacture is known. The present watch is preserved in excellent overall condition and is accompanied by its full set of original accessories, further enhancing its desirability among collectors.

F.P. Journe
Swiss | 1999Founded by watchmaker François-Paul Journe in 1999, the F.P. Journe brand is relatively young, but already is as highly regarded by collectors as many distinguished manufacturers with centuries-old heritage. In the minds of the world's savviest collectors, Journe is producing some of the finest wristwatches the market has ever seen. Mastering his craft from restoring historical timepieces, he was the first to create a wristwatch incorporating two escapements that benefit from the phenomenon of resonance — the Chronomètre à Résonance.
Key models include the Résonance, tourbillon wristwatches incorporating a remontoir and the limited edition Vagabondage series. Especially sought-after are his earliest "souscription" watches, made in 1999.
