- GPHG nominee Behrens has started to make its impact within the horological community since 2019 with their release of the Apolar and Rotary watches. With the release in 2023 of the present timepiece, the Behrens Perigee, the brand revealed their first completely in-house manual caliber, the BM01.
- The result of a two-year development process, the Perigee features an orbital Earth-Moon system that’s similar to what was used in the Apolar, however with an additional complexity in the form of a chain-driven system that displays the hours and a retrograde minutes counter.
- The chain features ruby bearings and completes a full rotation once every 12 hours. Turning the watch around and visible through the sapphire caseback is the manual-wind BM01 caliber’s impressive movement architecture and power reserve indicator.
- Preserved in virtually unworn condition and complete with it full set of accessories, the present Behrens Perigee is number 023 of a limited edition of 200 pieces.
