    - First released in 1989 as the famed reference 25720, The Audemars Piguet Star Wheel was one of the more interesting complications in recent horological history with its unusual display.

    - Discontinued only to be re-issued in the year 2000 as the Millenary edition for the 125th anniversary of the brand, the model was a limited edition. 125 where made in steel, 50 in yellow gold and 75 in rose gold, like the present example. Showcasing a captivating slate grey dial, time is indicated via three nearly invisible sapphire disks with printed hours rotating on a center wheel, with the hour pointing the minutes on the right portion of the dial.

    - The Audemars Piguet Millenary Star Wheel captivates with its graceful simplicity, thanks to its distinctive complication. Additionally, the current timepiece is part of a limited edition of only 125 pieces made to commemorate the 125th Anniversary of Audemars Piguet and is further accompanied by its original certificate d'Origine et de Garantie and full set of accessories.

-Please note that the proceeds of the present timepiece will be donated by the consignor to various charities.

    Audemars Piguet

    Swiss • 1881

A specialist in the manufacture of complications since it was established in 1881, Audemars Piguet never ceases to impress with a rich history of creating bold, even audacious, timepieces underpinned by traditional watchmaking at its finest. This Le Brassus-based Swiss manufacturer is one of only two major manufacturers still owned by the founding family. Since its earliest days, AP is considered a leader in the field of minute repeaters and grande complication pocket and wristwatches. The brand is devoted to preserving the history of watchmaking in the Vallée de Joux, showcased at their superb museum in Le Brassus.

Today, the brand is best known for its Royal Oak models, a revolutionary luxury sports watch launched in 1972. Other key models include early minute repeating wristwatches, vintage chronograph wristwatches, such as the oversized reference 5020, perpetual calendar watches and the Royal Oak Offshore, first introduced in 1993.
