Good To Know:

- Auction debut for this reference
- Frosted white gold texture designed by Italian jeweler Carolina Bucci
- Glittering crystal sand finished dial
- Excellent condition with full set of accessories

In 2016, Audemars Piguet collaborated with Italian jeweler Carolina Bucci to introduce its signature "frosted" finish — a Florentine technique achieved by beating the gold surface with a diamond-tipped tool to yield a sparkling, micro-textured shimmer. In 2024, following the debut of the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar "John Mayer" Limited Edition featuring a blue crystallized dial, Audemars Piguet united these two decorative techniques in the reference 77450. Rendered in 18K white gold, the watch pairs the Florentine-style frosted finish across its case and integrated bracelet with a matching rhodium-plated crystallized dial.

The dial's diamond-dusted appearance is produced through a multi-step process beginning with precision stamping, followed by rhodium plating over a brass dial plate. The stamping die itself is crafted via electroforming, an advanced process that builds metal atom-by-atom to achieve micro-grained detail resembling natural crystal sand. For maximum legibility and contrast against the textured backdrop, the applied hour markers and Audemars Piguet signature are rendered in pink gold.

Preserved in overall excellent condition, the present watch is offered complete with its full suite of original accessories. Marking the reference 77450BC.GG.1361BC.01's debut at public auction, this timepiece offers collectors a rare opportunity to acquire a contemporary Royal Oak execution that unites two of Audemars Piguet's modern finishing techniques.

Audemars Piguet

Swiss | 1881

A specialist in the manufacture of complications since it was established in 1881, Audemars Piguet never ceases to impress with a rich history of creating bold, even audacious, timepieces underpinned by traditional watchmaking at its finest. This Le Brassus-based Swiss manufacturer is one of only two major manufacturers still owned by the founding family. Since its earliest days, AP is considered a leader in the field of minute repeaters and grande complication pocket and wristwatches. The brand is devoted to preserving the history of watchmaking in the Vallée de Joux, showcased at their superb museum in Le Brassus.

Today, the brand is best known for its Royal Oak models, a revolutionary luxury sports watch launched in 1972. Other key models include early minute repeating wristwatches, vintage chronograph wristwatches, such as the oversized reference 5020, perpetual calendar watches and the Royal Oak Offshore, first introduced in 1993.
