Royal Oak
An extremely rare and attractive platinum quartz wristwatch with diamond-set indices
Full-Cataloguing
- Extremely rare in platinum with diamond-set indices
- Very well-preserved and ultra-thin
- First time offered by Phillips
While the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak has enjoyed a prosperous line up of models and complications over the years, collectors have since shifted their attention to looking out for forgotten references that bear the firm’s iconic octagonal-shaped case. This is the case for the mid-size ref. 56303, which can be found in tantalum, gold, two-tone, stainless steel and very rarely in platinum, such as the present example. With a case measuring 33mm in diameter, the model is powered by the firm’s quartz cal. 2612, allowing for an extremely thin case profile.
Small but mighty, the Royal Oak ref. 56303PT is a hassle-free Gerald Genta design that combines comfort and playfulness. Afterall, you cannot go wrong with an ultra-slim sports watch with an attractive dial, which in this instance features diamond-set indices, making this particular example even more rare and special.
The Royal Oaks from the 90s radiates a charm that cannot be found in modern counterparts. Offered first time by Phillips in excellent overall condition, the present timepiece from 1992 confirmed by its digital Extract is an exceptionally attractive and rare example of the ref. 56303 that should not be missed by the discerning collector.
