-Introduced in 2001, the Lange 1 Soirée offered a decidedly more decorative interpretation of A. Lange & Söhne’s signature asymmetric design. The present ref. 110.030 pairs its 38.5mm white gold case with a captivating guilloché mother-of-pearl dial, whose iridescent surface gives the otherwise restrained Lange 1 architecture an unusually dynamic character.
-This organic canvas is a gift of nature that flickers under the light, subtly revealing splashes of colors that shines through its surface. Sublime and divine, mother of pearl is an extremely delicate material that requires only the most skilled artisans to perfect and carve on. In addition, the present example retains all the captivating elements of a Lange 1, fitted with the patented oversized date windows, power reserve indication and the in-house caliber L901.4.
-Offered in excellent overall conditions, The present example is further distinguished by its particularly comprehensive factory documentation. Its accompanying A. Lange & Söhne Proof of Origin, dated February 16, 2023, confirms the reference, calibre, movement no. 49’396 and case no. 150’468, while additional Lange service documentation records a complete service, case refinishing and crystal replacement in November 2021, providing valuable factory-supported provenance for this charming and seldom-seen Lange 1 variant.
A. Lange & Söhne
German | 1845Originally founded in 1845 by Ferdinand Adolph Lange in Glashütte, Dresden, Germany, the firm established an entire watchmaking culture and industry in Glashütte. The brand quickly became Germany's finest watchmaker, first creating dependable, easy-to-repair watches before going on to produce some of the world's finest complicated pocket watches, including Grande Sonnerie watches, tourbillon watches and Grande Complications.
On the final day of World War II, their factories were destroyed by Russian bombers, and in 1948 the brand was confiscated by the Soviet Union. Following the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, Ferdinand's great grandson Walter Lange re-established the brand with the objective to once again produce top-quality luxury watches. Now part of the Richemont Group, its original vintage and modern creations are highly coveted by collectors. Key models from the modern era include the Lange 1, Pour Le Mérite Tourbillon and the Zeitwerk.
