Extant large-format exhibition prints of this image made before Fukase’s debilitating accident in 1992 are rare. To date, only two such prints have appeared at auction, including the present work. A similar-sized pre-1992 print, shown in the 1985–88 traveling exhibition Black Sun: The Eyes of Four, is held in the collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Post-1992 prints of the image are held by the J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles, and The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo.
