Catalogue Essay
Calling all anime enthusiasts, especially fans who grew up with Monkey Punch’s “Lupin the Third”! This Japanese manga was born in 1965, following the escapades of Arsene Lupin III, a fictional French gentleman from a strong lineage of master thieves.

The present Chronomaster is a revival of the original ref. A384, the exact El Primero Chronograph worn by Daisuke Jigen, Lupin’s partner in crime and deuteragonist in this seminal series. Playing on nostalgia, the warm white lacquered dial is paired with contrasting black sub-registers to create a vintage aesthetic. In correspondence to the 1970s El Primero watches, the configuration is housed in a tonneau-shaped case with a Gay Frères inspired ladder bracelet, made in stainless steel with brush finishes.

The present Chronomaster A384 Revival, “Lupin the Third”- The Second Edition, is a rare specimen from a limited edition of 200 pieces only. Offered in excellent condition and accompanied by its original accessories, it will truly be a crime if “Lupin the Third” aficionados miss this opportunity to pinch this steal.

Zenith

Swiss | 1865
Since Zenith's beginnings, founder George Favre-Jacot sought to manufacture precision timepieces, realizing quality control was best maintained when production was housed under one roof. Zenith remains one of the few Swiss manufacturers to produce their own in-house movements to this day.

Today, the brand is best known for the "El Primero," the firm's most successful automatic chronograph movement. In an interesting twist of fate, the company that owned Zenith during the 1970s decided to move on to quartz movements and therefore sought to destroy the parts and tools necessary to make mechanical movements. One watchmaker realized this folly and hid the tools and parts before they were destroyed. In 1984, he returned them to Zenith so they could once again make the El Primero movement.
