Good To Know:

- This unique piece showcases 1930s exuberance
- Features a faceted crystal that gives the appearance of a driver's watch
- Fitted with rare white gold Milanese Gay Frères bracelet - rarity itself

The 1920s and 30s was a time of exuberance, entertainment and experimentation. It was a period of significant artistic development and even though Art Deco was the dominant style, the period was also influenced by Dadaism, Expressionism and Surrealism. Stylish and tasteful, the present watch is a testament to Vacheron Constantin's design prowess during this period, and a reflection of the spirit of the time.

Housed in a platinum case, the watch features a sapphire-set bezel on a horizontal layout, giving the watch flair and creativity. The creatively angled crystal enhances these curves with its facet positioned perfectly at the centre line of the case, giving it almost the appearance of a driver's watch, meaning that the time can be read at different angles, depending on the light. During this period and before the advent of serialised reference numbers, each creation was a unique piece, attesting to the hand-crafted nature of each watch. It is furthermore accompanied by a beautiful white gold Milanese Gay Frères bracelet - a rarity in itself which dresses up the timepiece to no end.

Vacheron Constantin

Swiss | 1755

The world's oldest watch brand in continuous operation since its founding in 1755, Vacheron Constantin was the first watch company to manufacture movements with interchangeable parts beginning in 1839. Vacheron's watches are admired for their Latin-influenced case designs, well-balanced proportions and exquisitely finished movements of the highest quality. The Geneva-based manufacturer is known for their highly complicated masterpieces, including the King Farouk Grand Complication made in 1935, the Tour de l'Ile that was the most complicated serially produced wristwatch when introduced in 2005 and the 57260 — the world’s most complicated watch — made in 2015.

Key vintage models include minute repeating wristwatches such as the references 4261, chronographs such as the references 4178 and 6087 and the oversized Cioccolotone models such as ref. 4737. Collectors also appreciate Vacheron's Chronometer Royal pocket and wristwatches, as well as the '222,' the brand's first luxury sports watch produced from 1977 through 1984.
