Catalogue Essay
- The term "Sartorialism" derives from Latin, signifying an interest in the tailoring of clothing and a passion for hand-crafted, fine apparel dedicated to men. This is precisely what the Old Maison Vacheron Constantin sought to celebrate with a brand new collection launched in 2016. Comprising five watches, each features hand-crafted dials created using Métiers d’Art techniques.

- Just as a finely tailored suit crafted from high-quality fabric is essential in every gentleman's wardrobe, an elegant watch that complements such attire is equally important. By employing traditional and refined techniques like enameling and guilloché, this collection offers a rich immersion into the treasures of the art of tailoring through its exquisite dials.

- The dial consists of two parts, with an off-set time-telling subdial surrounded by a refined mother-of-pearl hour circle. The cream dial is adorned with a design reminiscent of shirt buttons, while the remaining surface features a hand-guillochéd tartan pattern, further enhanced by a cerulean blue translucent Grand Feu enamel.

- Extremely elegant on the wrist, this timepiece reflects Vacheron Constantin's commitment to crafting sophisticated pieces for discerning gentlemen. The watch is barely worn and comes complete with its full set of accessories.

Vacheron Constantin

Swiss | 1755
The world's oldest watch brand in continuous operation since its founding in 1755, Vacheron Constantin was the first watch company to manufacture movements with interchangeable parts beginning in 1839. Vacheron's watches are admired for their Latin-influenced case designs, well-balanced proportions and exquisitely finished movements of the highest quality. The Geneva-based manufacturer is known for their highly complicated masterpieces, including the King Farouk Grand Complication made in 1935, the Tour de l'Ile that was the most complicated serially produced wristwatch when introduced in 2005 and the 57260 — the world’s most complicated watch — made in 2015.

Key vintage models include minute repeating wristwatches such as the references 4261, chronographs such as the references 4178 and 6087 and the oversized Cioccolotone models such as ref. 4737. Collectors also appreciate Vacheron's Chronometer Royal pocket and wristwatches, as well as the '222,' the brand's first luxury sports watch produced from 1977 through 1984.
