Japan collectors have long been strong supporter of Vacheron Constantin, however it was not until 2014 when Vacheron Constantin spread its footprint in Japan with its first flagship boutique in Tokyo’s famous Ginza district. Prior to this milestone, the collaboration between the manufacture and the nation can trace back to the present limited edition Overseas Chronograph ref. 49150 dating back to 2007. In fact, two limited editions ref. 49150 were made for Japan that year: Ref. 49150/B01M-0251 made for “Engine” a Japanese Car Magazine with red accents, and ref. 49150/B01A-0320 Defi Mèr with blue accents made for the Japanese market. Both produced in only 50 pieces each, they are extremely rare and hardly available in the market.
Sold at Daimaru Department store in Tokyo Japan and fresh-to-the-market, the present Overseas Defi Mèr is preserved in stunning condition and accompanied with its certificate and accessories, to the best of our knowledge, only a handful of examples has surfaced in the market.

Vacheron's watches are admired for their Latin-influenced case designs, well-balanced proportions and exquisitely finished movements of the highest quality. The Geneva-based manufacturer is known for their highly complicated masterpieces, including the King Farouk Grand Complication made in 1935, the Tour de l'Ile that was the most complicated serially produced wristwatch when introduced in 2005 and the 57260 — the world’s most complicated watch — made in 2015.
