Inspired by the celebrated reference 222, Vacheron Constantin introduced the Overseas collection to the market in 1996. Today it is one of the most iconic luxury sports watches and has become increasingly popular with collectors. The model has flourished and offers enthusiasts a sports wristwatch in an array of materials, dimensions, and complications.
The present Vacheron Constantin Overseas reference 49150 in stainless steel with a stunning blue dial is a modern iteration of the famed model featuring a chronograph complication with an oversized, double date aperture. The 42mm diameter case features a notched bezel with back secured by eight screws and a bas relief “Overseas” ship motif. The automatic in-house caliber 1137 is antimagnetic providing protection to 25,000 A/m, and offered with a 40 hour power reserve when fully wound.
The present example is in near new condition and has probably only been worn a handful of times, at most. The watch is fitted with the “Overseas” stainless steel bracelet, and is complete with Vacheron Constantin guarantee, presentation, and additional blue rubber strap with double deployant clasp. Exceptionally well-finished, the model is uncommon, sporty, practical, and an ideal chronograph for everyday wear.

Vacheron Constantin
Swiss | 1755The world's oldest watch brand in continuous operation since its founding in 1755, Vacheron Constantin was the first watch company to manufacture movements with interchangeable parts beginning in 1839. Vacheron's watches are admired for their Latin-influenced case designs, well-balanced proportions and exquisitely finished movements of the highest quality. The Geneva-based manufacturer is known for their highly complicated masterpieces, including the King Farouk Grand Complication made in 1935, the Tour de l'Ile that was the most complicated serially produced wristwatch when introduced in 2005 and the 57260 — the world’s most complicated watch — made in 2015.
Key vintage models include minute repeating wristwatches such as the references 4261, chronographs such as the references 4178 and 6087 and the oversized Cioccolotone models such as ref. 4737. Collectors also appreciate Vacheron's Chronometer Royal pocket and wristwatches, as well as the '222,' the brand's first luxury sports watch produced from 1977 through 1984.
