- Since its revival in 1985 under Peter Baumberger—and later guided by the technical expertise of Derek Pratt and Kari Voutilainen—Urban Jürgensen has remained true to its distinctive design language: slim, stepped cases, elegant teardrop lugs, richly guilloché dials, and intricate hand-finished details. The Reference 2140 WG was made in celebration of the company´s 245th anniversary as a made to order piece in the Jules Collection – honoring the achievements of Jules Jürgensen – the grandson of Urban Jürgensen, and a pivotal watchmaker in the Jürgensen family Dynasty.

- The present ref. 2140 features a newly introduced “contemporary lugs”, marking a departure from the brand’s traditional design language. Reminiscent of a modern corne de vache lug with a twist, this fresh detail, combined with the white gold case and the beautifully handcrafted black guilloché dial with applied white gold hour markers, lends the timepiece a sleek and refined presence. The manual wind robust and finely decorated lever escapement P4 in-house movement is in use here in the small seconds version rendering the dial extremely elegant in its simplicity. It is well known that production series of Urban Jürgensen are indeed very small, as the handcraft involved makes it akin to bespoke watch making.

- With its hypnotic dial, sleek case profile, and thoughtful design updates, this timepiece is a standout example of Urban Jürgensen’s evolving vision. The ref. 2140 is known to have been made in about a dozen examples, making this particular sample – new and never used, an extremely rare find, and a first to the auction market. The watch comes with a complete set including hang tag, box, papers and the Jürgensen Dynasty book - adding depth to an already compelling package.
