Good to know:
- Rare “Exotic Nina” silver variant
- Reliable cal. UG85 based on the Valjoux 72
- Exquisite Gay Frères bracelet
- Recently serviced by Universal Geneve with documentation
The Compax model undoubtedly one of the most celebrated Universal Genève chronographs, and amongst the vast combination of dial configurations, the “Exotic Nina” with blue accents is one of the rarest iteration. Two iterations were produced: Exotic Silver, ref 885.107 with silver dial, blue sub-dials and outertrack, and Exotic Blue, ref. 885.108 with dark blue dial, white subdials and outertrack. Much rarer than the "Nina" and "Evil Nina" variants, it is estimated that only 500-600 were produced with the Exotic silver being much rarer.
The present example 2’892’595 is part of an early production batch. The ref. 885.107 features the Exotic silver dial with production ranging from 2'892'5XX to 2'893'0XX. Contrasted with white hands for maximum legibility, the hour and minute hands are painted in black, red or black chronograph hands can be found within the reference. Its bezel insert are in dark blue dot over 90 Don bezel with É on Tachymétre. Powered by the cal. UG85 (Valjoux 72 based) the watch is accompanied by a very rare early production Gay Frères bracelet. Furthermore, the present example has been recently serviced by Universal Genève in 2025.
