- Throughout its history, the COS has directed over 1,000 special operations. The faces and names of the remarkable soldiers who execute these missions remain classified, as their work is inherently secretive. Adaptability, resilience, determination and a strong sense of teamwork are essential qualities for those who mobilize at a moment’s notice in diverse locations worldwide to achieve their objectives.
- To commemorate the COS's 30th anniversary in 2022, Tudor collaborated with the unit to create a unique edition of 330 pieces of the Black Bay 58. This exclusive timepiece was never made available for public sale but to COS operators only.
- At first glance, the watch may resemble a standard Black Bay 58. However, a closer inspection reveals its iconic blue dial adorned with three lines of text in blue, white, and red—the colors of the French flag—making it distinctly recognizable to those in the know.
- The reverse side of the 39 mm steel case showcases the unit's distinctive circled crossbow logo, alongside the anniversary dates “1922-2022” and the owner's military trigram and commando insignia. Preserved in excellent condition, this watch also includes a COS medal and badge to commemorate this significant milestone.
Tudor
Swiss | 1926Almost twenty years after Rolex was founded, Hans Wilsdorf established Tudor with the intention of making more affordable watches without compromising the quality for which Rolex was renowned. Tudor was named after the British Dynasty that ruled England from 1485 to 1603, and their symbol came from the "War of Roses." After interchanging Rose and Shield symbols for a number of years, the firm replaced the Rose with the Shield logo from the 1960s until today.
Some of the most recognized vintage models made by Tudor include the Submariner, a waterproof model first introduced in 1954, the Oysterdate, the earliest versions of which were nicknamed the "Monte-Carlo," the Heritage, which included the date at 6 o'clock, as well as the Pelagos, which translates to "deep sea" in Greek.
