'The Vanderbilt Sapphire' Magnificent and highly important sapphire and diamond brooch, early 20th century

Of openwork scroll design, set with a sugarloaf sapphire weighing 42.68 carats, decorated with circular-cut diamonds, measuring approximately 84 x 73mm, signed Tiffany & Co.

Accompanied by AGL report no. 1148815 and SSEF report no. 147410, each stating that the sapphire is of Kashmir origin, with no indications of heating, 'Royal Blue' colour; each with an appendix letter and SSEF special letter stating that the sapphire has an approximate age of about 25 million years; also accompanied by Gübelin report no. 25070097, stating that the sapphire is of Kashmir origin, with no indications of heating; together with an appendix letter.
