- Stepan Sarpaneva, son of accomplished Finnish jewellery designer Pentti Sarpaneva, has worked alongside with some of the most important watchmakers of our generation including the likes of Vianney Halter, Michel Parmigiani and Christophe Claret. In 2003, Sarpaneva ventured to start his very own brand, enlightening the watchmaking world with a distinctive aesthetic that accentuates fun and playfulness.

- In 2020, S.U.F Sarpaneva Helsinki in collaboration with Finnish cartoon Moomin launched a series of timepieces limited to 75 examples, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the popular cartoon. Inspired by the original black and white illustration by Jansson, Sarpaneva applied his inventiveness and technical finesse to the fairytale of Moominvalley. The timepiece paid more than just a homage to the cartoon but surely a statement to the industry of implementing Super-Luminova as a form of art instead of applying it to tell time in the dark.

- Extremely well-received by collectors worldwide, Sarpaneva launched another limited run of Moomin-themed watches in 2021. Featuring a different motif and a case composed of high quality Outokumpu steel reminiscent of Sarpaneva timepieces, the same skeletonized luminous dial was interpreted once again in this generation two limited edition. With its crown positioned at 4 o’clock the self-winding rotor displayed through its sapphire display caseback does not lack the firm’s signature angry Moonface with luminous-filled eyes and mouth.
