Catalogue Essay
• A defining feature of the Land-Dweller 36 is its honeycomb dial, crafted using femtolaser technology to produce a richly textured surface that catches the light beautifully. This modern interpretation of Rolex’s classic fluted motif is complemented by luminous ceramic-resin hour markers, which offer excellent legibility and long-lasting durability.

• The watch is fitted with the Flat Jubilee bracelet, designed exclusively for the Land-Dweller. This updated version of the traditional Jubilee bracelet features flat links and integrates seamlessly into the case. Its alternating polished and satin finishes add a refined elegance, while the advanced attachment system provides outstanding strength without compromising comfort or sophistication. It is a true expression of both aesthetic and functional excellence.

• Within the 36mm White Rolesor case lies the Calibre 7135, a major achievement in Rolex’s technical development. This high-beat movement is the brand’s first to operate at a high frequency of five hertz, which is fifty percent faster than its standard calibres. Developed entirely in-house over more than seven years, it introduces the Dynapulse escapement, a pioneering mechanism that transmits energy through rolling contact rather than sliding friction. This innovation significantly improves efficiency and reduces mechanical wear.

• The high beat results in a smoother motion of the seconds hand and greater stability in timekeeping. Despite the increased energy demands, the use of advanced materials allows the movement to maintain an impressive power reserve of sixty-six hours. Certified as a Superlative Chronometer, the Calibre 7135 offers exceptional precision, with a daily deviation of just -2/+2 seconds per day, which is twice as accurate as the COSC standard.

• Positioned as a refined everyday timepiece, the Land-Dweller 36 showcases Rolex’s ability to innovate from the inside to the outside. Presented in excellent condition and accompanied by its full set of accessories, this is the first example to be offered at auction and represents a rare and compelling opportunity for collectors who value technical mastery and timeless design.

Rolex

Swiss | 1905
Founded in 1905 England by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis as Wilsdorf & Davis, it soon became known as the Rolex Watch Company in 1915, moving its headquarters to Geneva in 1919. Like no other company, the success of the wristwatch can be attributed to many of Rolex's innovations that made them one of the most respected and well-known of all luxury brands. These innovations include their famous "Oyster" case — the world's first water resistant and dustproof watch case, invented in 1926 — and their "Perpetual" — the first reliable self-winding movement for wristwatches launched in 1933. They would form the foundation for Rolex's Datejust and Day-Date, respectively introduced in 1945 and 1956, but also importantly for their sports watches, such as the Explorer, Submariner and GMT-Master launched in the mid-1950s.One of its most famous models is the Cosmograph Daytona. Launched in 1963, these chronographs are without any doubt amongst the most iconic and coveted of all collectible wristwatches. Other key collectible models include their most complicated vintage watches, including references 8171 and 6062 with triple calendar and moon phase, "Jean Claude Killy" triple date chronograph models and the Submariner, including early "big-crown" models and military-issued variants.
