-- Since it was first introduced in 1963, the Rolex Daytona has become one of the world’s most sought after timepieces, known for its precision timekeeping, versatility, and robustness – easily worn at the office, for sports, or an evening out. Over the last 62 years, the model has continuously evolved, from caliber improvements to case design enhancements and offered in stainless steel, yellow, pink and white gold as well as platinum.

-- The reference 116508 was introduced in 2016 as an updated version of the reference 116528 the first yellow gold Daytona to house Rolex’s in-house caliber 4130. The reference 116508 features a 40mm diameter case with an updated bezel and clasp design. A distinct feature of the updated reference was the dial variety available including black, white and green examples along with champagne, like the present watch. Additionally, the dials featured luminous numerals or enhanced with diamond-set markers.

-- The present model is offered with its complete set of original accessories and in very good overall condition. It retains the DNA of the original automatic model with its graduated bezel, Oyster bracelet, and "Daytona" designation above the 6 o'clock register.

Founded in 1905 England by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis as Wilsdorf & Davis, it soon became known as the Rolex Watch Company in 1915, moving its headquarters to Geneva in 1919. Like no other company, the success of the wristwatch can be attributed to many of Rolex's innovations that made them one of the most respected and well-known of all luxury brands. These innovations include their famous "Oyster" case — the world's first water resistant and dustproof watch case, invented in 1926 — and their "Perpetual" — the first reliable self-winding movement for wristwatches launched in 1933. One of its most famous models is the Cosmograph Daytona. Launched in 1963, these chronographs are without any doubt amongst the most iconic and coveted of all collectible wristwatches. Other key collectible models include their most complicated vintage watches, including references 8171 and 6062 with triple calendar and moon phase, "Jean Claude Killy" triple date chronograph models and the Submariner, including early "big-crown" models and military-issued variants.
