The present two tone reference 16753F demonstrated Rolex’s fresh twist on the classic. The model features a two-tone brown bezel, now referred to by collectors as the “Root Beer” and a brown tone dial, which has over the years aged now with orange hue around the nipple numerals. The movement was upgraded to the caliber 3075 with quick-set date.

This lovely example from 1984 is a rare variant with the letter “F” associated with the case number. Research indicates this may have been an indication to the watchmaker the gold value of the bezel. Another feature that further adds to the attraction of the present piece is that the caseback is engraved “Registered Design-Acier Inox-Stainless Steel”. This type of caseback can be witnessed in Rolex timepieces produced in the respective era, however more commonly seen in ladies’ watches, making this present example slightly rarer than others bearing the same reference.
