Catalogue Essay
Based on the Lemania 2310 with inspiration drawn from classic Patek Philippe models, the Hommage monopusher chronographs are one of the early timepieces made by legendary watchmaker Roger Dubuis. Since the establishment of his own brand in 1995, it is understood that each variant is to be made in a series of no more than 28 pieces. These watches were chronometer-graded with certification from the Besançon Observatory and finished with exceptional quality. Know to be the largest sized made for the Hommage series at 40mm diameter, the H40 Monopusher is a sight to behold with very few examples resurfacing in the market and have become increasingly collectible. What makes the present Roger Dubuis timepiece exceedingly rare is that not only it is a Monopusher, it is also a perpetual calendar complication with a combination of a gorgeous mother-of-pearl dial. Featuring the symmetric stylistic indication of the date and day of the week, the wearer can simultaneously locate the information under a pair of skeletonized hands finished in attractive blued steel. Under sunlight, the meticulous details on the mother-of-pearl dial is stunning and everchanging. Finessed with pride, the movement bears the mark of excellence, the Poinçon de Genève.
Offered for the first time at Phillips with such complication from the early creation from Mr. Dubuis, the present timepiece is preserved in extremely beautiful condition and is numbered 3 of a limited edition of 28 pieces engraved on the inner caseback. For collectors looking to track down one of the early Roger Dubuis creation with an unusual and rare combination with iridescent charm, this is the perfect Hommage for you.
