Pope Bacay is known for his paintings that depict architectural structures and landscape views from his childhood home of Mindoro in the Philippines. There’s Nowhere Left to Climb captures the essence of a mountain trail in a blurry, dream-like style. Created using thick layers of paint, different textures within the painting evoke the rugged and challenging nature of a hike through a winding landscape.

Bacay’s artistic practice draws on images from his own personal history and childhood in the Philippines. Since graduating from the College of Fine Arts at the University of the Philippines Diliman in 2015, Bacay has presented several solo exhibitions and participated in group shows within the Philippines.

This lot is physically located in the Philippines.
