This model floor lamp belongs to the series of furniture and lighting designed by Pierre Paulin for the refurbishment of the private apartments of the Élysée Palace during the Pompidou presidency in the early 1970s. The Mobilier National acted as the commissioning and supervisory state institution, while production of lighting elements was entrusted to Verre Lumière, a specialist French lighting studio responsible for the technical execution of Paulin’s designs.
