In 2021, Patek Philippe announced the imminent discontinuation of the reference 5711/1A in its entirety, introducing a special olive-green dial produced for just one year to mark its farewell. Alongside a baguette diamond-set bezel variant, these two final reference 5711 iterations (apart from the limited run of 170 "Tiffany Blue" double-signed timepieces) marked the conclusion of a production run that had served as a cornerstone of the Patek Philippe catalogue since 2006.
Collectors were instantly drawn to the subtle hue of the green dial and the strictly limited nature of its release, though allocations remained extraordinarily selective. Because no further examples of the reference 5711/1A-014 will ever be produced, the present watch represents a rare opportunity to acquire a piece from this highly coveted final series of one of the most iconic sports wristwatches in horological history.
Although the reference was discontinued in 2021, select authorized retailers reserved their final allocations for their most VIP clients. This explains the existence of rare examples like the present watch, which is officially dated to 2023—two years after the model’s official discontinuation. Offered by the original owner in overall excellent condition, the timepiece is accompanied by its complete set of accessories.
