- Introduced in 2007 marking the 10th anniversary of the Aquanaut
- Produced for 5 years only
- Part of the early first year production and well-preserved
- 38mm diameter compared to 40mm of the ref. 5167
Released for the Aquanaut’s 10th anniversary, the Patek Philippe ref. 5165 is the sibling of the ref. 5167 with a smaller case size. Only available in stainless steel and sized at 38mm and wears perfectly on the wrist, the early production retains the 315SC calibre found in 5065. This was then replaced by the cal. 324 SC. Notable, the ref. 5165 only lasted five years in the catalogue before being discontinued.
In contrast to the preceding reference 5065, the 5165A incorporates an array of exciting new features. Most apparently, the 3 o’clock hour marker is replaced by the date window, making the dial cleaner and more stylish. The outer minute indexes are reduced in size, while the Patek Philippe signature is slightly enlarged. Fresh to the market and offered by the original owner, this is a wonderful opportunity to add not only an Aquanaut that was produced during the first year of its launch to your collection, it is also perfectly sized and well-preserved.
