Balancing mechanical pedigree with a contemporary aesthetic, the Patek Philippe Nautilus Flyback Chronograph 5980/60G-001 stands as a noteworthy edition of the Nautilus chronograph, offering collectors a more understated and versatile expression of this iconic design.
The opaline blue-gray dial, horizontally embossed in classic Nautilus fashion, is distinguished by its mono-counter chronograph display at 6 o’clock, combining 60-minute and 12-hour registers for exceptional legibility. Applied white gold hour markers with luminescent coating further enhance clarity.
Fashioned from 18k white gold, the watch features a 40.5mm case with a mix of polished and satin-brushed finishes, staying true to the iconic porthole-inspired design of the Nautilus collection. Further enhancing its modern appeal, this reference is fitted with a blue-gray calfskin strap featuring a denim motif, an unconventional yet deliberate choice that introduces a more casual dimension to the Nautilus lineage.
The present example is offered by the original owner in virtually new, unworn condition, as a complete set, and for the first time at a Phillips auction.
