World Time
A fine and attractive pink gold world-time wristwatch with guilloche dial and presentation box
Full-Cataloguing
- Early example with “Hong Kong” on the outer city ring
- Refined 38.5mm case design from its predecessors
Introduced in 2016, the Patek Philippe Reference 5230 is a modern interpretation of the iconic World Time watches that the brand launched in the 1930s, which have since become highly sought-after collectibles in the vintage Patek Philippe market.
This particular timepiece features a patented pusher at 10 o'clock that allows for effortless adjustment of the home time zone displayed at 12 o'clock, marrying innovation with tradition. Powered by the slim and elegant calibre 240 HU, it showcases the time across 24 time zones, with an exquisitely crafted inner ring that indicates night and day through sun and moon symbols.
While Patek Philippe also offers world time models with cloisonné enamel maps on their dials, this piece in pink gold exudes an understated beauty and timeless elegance with its grey guilloché dial. Furthermore, being one of the last modern world-time models to feature “Hong Kong” on the outer world ring adds to this example's desirability among collectors for years to come.
