Catalogue Essay
The reference 3802 was introduced in 1983 and bears the traditional elements found also on its predecessors. It is adorned by the well-regarded motif of Clous de Paris bezel first found on the reference 96D from 1934. Celebrating simplicity with a graceful Clous de Paris bezel, this particular example stands out from its peers. The regular production features a minimalistic dial with thin Roman numerals on a plain white canvas. This example however, celebrates in a bold manner. Unworn and preserved in spectacular condition, the dial is first of all porcelain white as indicated on the Certificate of Origin. The numerals execution is truly a crowd pleasure, thick, bold with matching stick hands, the visual impact of this piece is simply stunning.

Paired with its good looks, it is complemented with an automatic cal. 315SC with date indication and center seconds. To the best of our knowledge, fresh-to-the-market and the only example surfaced publicly with this configuration. Stowed away in a safe from this private collection for nearly two decades, the case has gained a charming warm patina throughout.
