Catalogue Essay
The Patek Philippe reference 5565 was released as an exclusive limited edition of 300 pieces in 2006, alongside reference 5105 (see previous lot) to celebrate the grand reopening of the Patek Philippe boutique in Geneva.

This reference ultimately stands out for its use of stainless steel, a departure from the brand's usual preference for precious metals. The caseback features a special engraving that reads “Patek Philippe Genève 1839-1982-2006”, commemorating the brand's founding in 1839, the original opening of the Geneva Salon in 1982, and its celebrated reopening after renovation in 2006.

The design of reference 5565 is inspired by reference 565, one of the first Patek Philippe stainless steel wristwatches produced in series, which was first introduced in 1938.

The present specimen of reference 5565A-001 is offered in single-factory-sealed condition and comes complete with its full set of accessories.
