The Patek Philippe Calatrava Haute Joaillerie ref. 4899/900G-001, unveiled at Baselworld 2017, is a masterful fusion of watchmaking and gemsetting artistry. Designed for women, this exquisite timepiece showcases Patek Philippe’s ultra-thin self-winding calibre 240 movement, celebrating its 40th anniversary.
Crafted in 18K white gold, the present example features a delicately engraved mother-of-pearl with diamonds and rose sapphires arranged to evoke the flow of sand in an hourglass. The upper half of the dial is decorated with hand-engraved feather motifs in varying rose tones, enhancing its feminine charm. Leaf-shaped hour and minute hands in 18K white gold are also intricately engraved, adding to the artisanal detail.
The case is set with diamonds and rose sapphires in staggered rows, creating a romantic interplay of sparkle and warmth. The crown and clasp are equally lavish, featuring a combined total of 250 diamonds (1.505 carats) 265 rose sapphires (2.535 carats), all meticulously set by master jewellers in accordance with the Patek Philippe Seal.
Presented in excellent condition with its original accessories and offered at Phillips for the first time, the present example is a true celebration of craftsmanship, elegance, and timeless femininity.
