Catalogue Essay
- The Patek Philippe Sculpture collection, a surprising departure from the brand's usual creations, was designed in 1999. Its origins are particularly interesting, as it was initially made for the Russian market to celebrate five years of business with the Russian distributor, Mercury Group. Shortly after its debut, the model was introduced to the global market six months later.
- The Sculpture collection includes a total of 2,700 examples across a dozen variations, with no more than 300 examples made in each reference, making each one a rare gem in the market. This timepiece offers a unique Russian twist on sports watches from the era, drawing inspiration from Continental European traditions with its smooth curves and sculpted silhouette.
- Notably distinguished by its striking imperial blue enamel crown, which pays homage to its Russian roots, the present ref. 5091/1A-010 in steel features a rare black dial with luminous Arabic numerals and is powered by the self-winding caliber 315.
- Preserved in excellent overall condition and complete with its Certificate of Origin and presentation box, this watch stands as a testament to Patek Philippe’s creativity and willingness to experiment.

Other famous models include perpetual calendars such as the ref. 1526, ref. 3448 and 3450, chronographs such as the reference 130, 530 and 1463, as well as reference 1436 and 1563 split seconds chronographs. Patek is also well-known for their classically styled, time-only "Calatrava" dress watches, and the "Nautilus," an iconic luxury sports watch first introduced in 1976 as the reference 3700 that is still in production today.
