Catalogue Essay
- Introduced in 2014, the Patek Philippe World Time reference 5131, features the Maison’s renowned cloisonné enamel dial outlining the continents of the world.
- The year 1931 and the years that followed it were extraordinarily exciting and innovative years for horological lovers and world-class travellers of the time as this was the year Louis Cottier brought us the wonderful World Time Complication. It included an hour and minute hand that was connected to a 24-hour ring and surrounded by another city ring that showed the cities in each of the 24 different time zones on a single dial.
- Patek Philippe has created some of the most influential and known “Heure Universelle” time pieces including their first launched in 1939, the 1415HU and then the iconic reference 2523. The reference 5110 was introduced at the turn of the century in 2000. Six years later, the reference 5130 was introduced, carrying the same calibre but with a larger case size of 39.5mm.
- Preserved in excellent condition, the present watch is furthermore accompanied by its Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin dated February 26, 2018, product literature, leather wallet, tag, fitted presentation box, outer packaging.
