Catalogue Essay
- Patek Philippe further enhanced its offering of stainless steel luxury sports watches with the release of the Aquanaut line, specifically with the introduction of the reference 5060. A highly coveted model, The Aquanaut even though resembling the Nautilus, was cased in stainless steel and featured a simpler and slightly smaller design.

- Aimed at a younger audience, Patek Philippe replaced the integrated bracelet found on the Nautilus with a rubber strap for the Aquanaut. The watch also included a screw-down caseback, ensuring a waterproof capability of up to 120 meters. This design shift marked a significant step in Patek Philippe's approach to sports watches.

- The present Patek Philippe reference 5060A, is offered in excellent overall condition and is accompanied by its extract from the archives confirming the production of the present timepiece in 1997.

For collectors, key models include the reference 1518, the world's first serially produced perpetual calendar chronograph, and its successor, the reference 2499. Other famous models include perpetual calendars such as the ref. 1526, ref. 3448 and 3450, chronographs such as the reference 130, 530 and 1463, as well as reference 1436 and 1563 split seconds chronographs. Patek is also well-known for their classically styled, time-only "Calatrava" dress watches, and the "Nautilus," an iconic luxury sports watch first introduced in 1976 as the reference 3700 that is still in production today.
