Catalogue Essay
The Patek Philippe ref. 5235R was launched in 2019. This pink gold reference was made as a substitute for the discontinued ref. 5235G, the firm’s foremost regulator style wristwatch with an integrated annual calendar complication, only available in white gold initially.

The aesthetics of this timepiece is very well executed. Featuring a pink gold case with a dark, seductive two-tone dial, the ref. 5235R is warm and inviting in contrast to its cool and crisp white gold older sibling. Complemented by the texturized graphite center with a vertical satin finish, the black sub-dials and outer track are accentuated by the pink gold accents on the dial. From its colour treatments to the brushed effect detail, the dial is given a bold appearance that plays with light in a captivating manner.

The ref. 5235R is a suave gentleman’s watch- framed by its distinctive angular lugs, brushed case band and crisp edges. Modern and technically sound, the movement was uniquely designed for the Annual Calendar Regulator, housing three silicon components developed by the Advanced Research department: a silicon escape wheel, a silicon anchor and a silicon balance spring.

Offered at a Phillips Auction for the first time, the present Patek Philippe ref. 5235R is offered in excellent condition and is complete with its full set of original accessories.
