Launched in 2010, the Patek Philippe ref. 5726 was the first Nautilus reference to feature an annual calendar complication and was only manufactured in stainless steel. As pioneers of the annual calendar complication, Patek Philippe first introduced the complication in 1996 that took into account the different lengths of the months and required only one annual adjustment in February.
Featuring a perfectly symmetrical dial layout with two apertures at 12 o’clock indicating the day and month, moon phases and 24-hour indication via a subsidiary dial at 6 o’clock and an aperture indicating the date at the bottom, the legibility and pure aesthetics are clearly witnessed in this reference proudly displaying the complexity of the movement via a sapphire caseback. Initially launched with a grey dial and a leather strap, Patek Philippe introduced a variant with a bracelet in 2012, however both examples have been discontinued since the release of an edition with a blue dial in 2019.
