Catalogue Essay
Patek Philippe launched the reference 3800 in 1981 with a smaller case dimension measuring 37mm to cater towards a wider unisex audience.
The reference 3800 bear much of the same aesthetics as the 3700 however an additional seconds hand has been applied. First launched in stainless steel, the reference was available in various case and dial configurations with some more common and some rarer.
The present example encased in platinum fitted with a blue ribbed diamond indexed dial is a rare variant of the reference and presented in absolute excellent overall condition with very minimal signs of use and wear and is further complete with the original certificate and an Extract from the Archives issued by Patek Philippe confirming its year of manufacture in 1995, fitted with a 3rd series cal. 330 SC.

Other famous models include perpetual calendars such as the ref. 1526, ref. 3448 and 3450, chronographs such as the reference 130, 530 and 1463, as well as reference 1436 and 1563 split seconds chronographs. Patek is also well-known for their classically styled, time-only "Calatrava" dress watches, and the "Nautilus," an iconic luxury sports watch first introduced in 1976 as the reference 3700 that is still in production today.
