From the pressure gauge-like appearance of Model No. 6, it is not difficult to speculate that Jiro Katayama draws inspiration from analogue instruments in his watch designs. His unique designs stand out amongst the conventional designs we see in the Japanese watch market. In 2024, at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève, Model No. 6 was awarded the winner of the “Challenge” award, while in the same year at the Phillips TOKI: Watch Auction it held a stunning record of being auctioned at HKD469,900, exceeding ten times more than the higher estimate.

Same as other models offered by Otsuka Lotec, most watch components are made in ‘Made in Japan’. Model No. 6 houses the trustworthy Miyota cal. 9015 with an in-house retrograde module. The case and hands are also crafted in Katayama’s workshop, together with the Japanese engraving on the dial, the present watch gives a strong industrial impression combining with a touch of modernity in contemporary Japanese watchmaking.

Offered in “brand-new” condition and full set of accessories, this set is the perfect collectible item that watch collectors would not want to miss without the long wait.
