- 1995 marked the 25th anniversary of the Apollo 13 mission, and Omega released the Speedmaster 3592.52.00 “Apollo XIII” 25th Anniversary to commemorate the space mission. The series is a limited edition of 999 units, in which the present watch is numbered 818. Omega later released 50 boxed sets of Mission Speedmasters also having a similar “Apollo XIII” model, but it was not sold individually again like a few other Mission watches.

- The subdial at 9 o’clock position is applied with the Apollo 13 mission badge. Previously, Omega released the limited edition Apollo-Soyuz in 1976 which featured a badge on the dial, but this model was the first time the manufacture put it at the subdial, being the first Mission Speedmaster to bear such feature. The pale yellow tritium hour markers have developed a beautiful patina with a slight orange hue, giving it a more vintage fashion.

- The caseband of this Speedmaster is the same as the original reference 105.012-63, asymmetrical with twisted lugs. It houses the post-1992 updated calibre 861 movement, which has 18 jewels instead of 17 in the older version of the movement.

- This Speedmaster is in excellent overall condition, with the Omega logo still visible in the centre of the hesalite glass. It comes with full set of accessories, for sure it would be an enjoyable collection for Omega enthusiasts.

Omega

Swiss | 1848

Omega's rich history begins with its founder, Louis Brandt, who established the firm in 1848 in La Chaux de Fonds. In 1903, the company changed its name to Omega, becoming the only watch brand in history to have been named after one its own movements. A full-fledged manufacturer of highly accurate, affordable and reliable watches, its sterling reputation enabled them to be chosen as the first watch company to time the Olympic Games beginning in 1932. Its continued focus on precision and reliability ultimately led their Speedmaster chronograph wristwatch to be chosen by NASA in 1965 — the first watch worn on the moon.

Key models sought-after by collectors include their first, oversized water-resistant chronograph — the reference 2077, early Speedmaster models such as the CK 2915 and 2998, military-issued versions of the Seamaster and oversized chronometer models such as those fitted with their prestigious caliber 30T2Rg.
