First introduced in the late 1940s, the Omega Seamaster remain as one of the longest running model line still in production today. With an illustrious heritage and being the chosen professional timing equipment for combat divers of the British Royal Navy, the Omega Seamaster 300 ref. 165.024 was launched in 1964 taking its inspiration from its ancestral models.

With a distinct appeal, the Seamaster is most notable for its implementation of the O ring on the gasket enhancing its waterproof capabilities. Encased in a perfectly proportioned 41mm diameter stainless steel case with the firm’s signature lyra-style lugs, the case is further adorned with a highly practical luminescent bi-directional rotating bezel, which enhances its legibility under water and in the dark to a heightened level.

The robust two-piece case made by Huguenin Frères with its initials “HF” stamped inside the caseback encases a beautiful matte black dial with large luminous plots and sword hands with Arabic numerals for 12, 3, 6 and 9.

The present example Omega Seamaster ref. 165.024 from 1966 is presented in an extremely attractive overall condition boasting not only a nice and defined case, the condition of the dial and bezel is moreover impressive. Aged in a coherent and exceptional vintage appeal, the luminescent plots have developed an even buttery hue that strikes a handsome contrast against the richness of its black dial. The Seahorse engraving on the reverse remains vividly intact and well-preserved.
