Catalogue Essay
- Inspired by 19th century maritime chronometry, the Louis Erard collaboration with Massena LAB is an homage to vintage and classic watchmaking. Le Régulateur can be seen to take its inspiration from Antide Janvier and Ferdinand Berthoud, horologists devoted in the fine art of marine chronometers.
- Cased at 42mm in diameter, the watch sits extremely comfortably on the wrist. The dial however, is without a doubt what really stands out from the timepiece. featuring a striking gold hue, the dial features a rough grained/frosted surface. With a multi-layer profile, the lower plate carries the colour, whilst the subsidiary dials of the regulator displaying central minutes, hours at 12 o’clock and seconds at 6 o’clock are raised, rhodium-plated and circular-grained for visual contrast and increased legibility.
- The present model, in "like-new" condition is part of a limited edition of 178 piece made. Launched in 2022 it sold out within hours, demonstrating the hunger of collectors for this type of collaboration.
- Coming with its full set of accessories, the present timepiece is a contemporary homage to the chronometry of the past as well as an exceptional collaboration amongst two avant-garde and visionary horologists.
